Sexual Assault

Sexual Assault

VWS Advocates work with any victim who has experienced sexual assault. It is important to note that a victim does not have to talk to law enforcement or any other agency to receive services at Victim Witness. A victim can learn about their options, receive crisis counseling from a certified counselor, receive assistance in setting up a forensic medical exam and have ongoing support from an advocate without or without a police report.

Sexual assault can often bring with it hard questions for the victim. It is never your fault. You have not dressed or acted in any way that justifies an assault. You have a right to speak up and receive help without judgment. You can receive help anonymously and change your mind at any time.
